Better Late than Never

My version of tag # 5 of the Tim Holtz 12 days of Christmas.  For a few years, I've wanted to participate in submitting my version of Tim Holtz's tags he features on his blog for "The 12 Tags of Christmas", but I am always too late to start.  Sooooo, this year I've been checking his blog starting on "Black Friday".  He has the wonderful movie type preview of this event.  I have anxiously awaited his first tag post.  I have many of the Ranger, Tim Holtz products, but not nearly enough to duplicate his items/tags exactly.  Participating in making my version of his tags lets me really tap into my creativity ability (or inabilility).    Well, as you could guess, my life got crazy and when I thought of Tim again was on last night when tag #5 was posted.  I have already missed making tags # 1-4.  I was a little disappointed in myself for about 1/2 of a second.  I decided, to just start with tag #5.  And here it is!  Of course, you'll need to see the original idea to know just how "creative"  I really had to get (LOL).

This is Tim Holtz's tag.  Big difference I just think he is amazing.  You must take a look at his site if you're any kind of crafter, artist, etc.  I realize that I need more alcohol inks and not just Distress inks.  Oh well, onto day/tag #6.  It's going to be fun since I do not have most of those items either. I do have my Cricuts.  So, I'll be searching for the right Rei

Check out Tim's blog.  See below.

Fancy Window treatment- "Murphy Valance" with drapery panels

Hey Everyone,

Thought I'd start uploading window treatments done by "Curtains and Covers By Brenda".  Looks like I'll be getting time to get back into doing custom window fashions and home decor in the new year.  Have a senior in high school and graduating  this spring.     They are are just beautiful!
Really enjoyed making this window treatment.  It was interesting to see the curved valance shape up just right.
Thanks for looking.

Can't Ever Start Too Early For The Holidays

It was so much fun creating this banner for my cousin who hosts a Thanksgiving "feast" every year.  Of course, the letters and background tags were cut from chipboard using the Cricut Expression.  These tags were covered with scrapbook cardstock.  After painting the letters, everything was adhered using Modge Podge.  I found copper colored grommets for the holes on sides of each tag.

Close up shows embossing on tag background.

Marching band banner

The band director for my son's school wanted a fabric banner for the marching band.  The school is fairly new (starting its 3rd year) and the band had only a vinyl flag.  So, I took pictures of the vinyl banner to help with designing; got input from director for details to include on banner and voila!
Started with this:

Used my cricut cutter and designing software for lettering and graphic converting and the finished banner turned out great.  Lots of work, but love how it turned out.
